I will dance with you at your brightest
and rage against the dying of your light
but I will love you at your darkest
and stand by you through the night.

nightmares & reveries

i'm too tired to feel broken
cuz i haven't slept in days
and when i close my eyes to dream
you are waiting in the haze

the objects in the mirror are closer than they actually appear

as all the doves around me
took off on light white wings
i looked behind only to find
i seemed to be missing mine
i perched on a birch
staring across a distance
i could cross in an instant
if my wings weren't missin'
but i have my two feet
there's a road that's concrete
so i will walk, i will run
and that should get it done
i know i'll arrive a little late
but i know it's worth the wait
for something that is true
but i wonder, do you?

devout

once again we step into the box
and quietly close the door
side by side, across the divide
we kneel upon the floor
here in this sacred place
that no one else knows
we confess our hopes and fears,
all our dreams and woes
but we always leave apart
with only the counsel we've received
and my lonely heart tries not to doubt
this religion I've long believed.

one versus the horde

I'm a lover not a fighter,
though I will fight for love,
but when the demons take me
and no one fights to save me
how can I hope to rise above?

couldn't think of a damn thing to call this one

if I am the night, then you are the moon
the more that you shine, the more that I swoon
the shadows scatter like marbles dropped to the floor
you're like a lighthouse that leads me ashore

if my nightmares are dragons, then you are a knight
one glimpse of your sword and they flee out of sight
the tower topples like a house of cards falls
you're like a fortress; I'm safe in these walls

and if you were lost at sea, I'd wish to be a star
if you were beseiged, I'd fight to where you are
and I am not a mason, but if I could work stone
I'd brick up your heart in mine, so you'd never feel alone

amaranthine

I could tell you to speak now
or forever hold your peice
but without you, I avow
that forever holds no peace.
